DAVID M. MITCHELL, SOUTH BRITAIN (Southbury): Farmer.

David Merwin Mitchell is a well-known resident of the town of Southbury, where he was born October 16, 1841, in that part of the town known as South Britain, where he still resides.

He was born and bred on the farm, but took time enough at the district school to lay the foundation for a good education, which was subsequently acquired at Hinman’s well-known academy.

He married Miss Hattie I. Lemmon, who with their three children is still living.

He is a republican in politics, and as such has served his party and his town as selectman, and has held other minor offices. He belongs to the Congregational church of South Britain.
