Nathaniel C. Barker


NATHANIEL C. BARKER, LEBANON: Merchant.

Mr. Barker was born in Middletown, R.I., August 31, 1838, attended the common schools, and graduated at Lebanon academy. 

 He has been honored by his fellow-citizens by being chosen town clerk and treasurer for five years, and in 1886 was elected as a republican representative from that town to the lower house of the legislature. He is also a justice of the peace. He is prominently connected with the Baptist church, with the Masonic fraternity, and the Ancient Order of United Workmen. He is engaged in mercantile pursuits, being at the head of the house of N. C. Barker & Co. in the village of Lebanon. His wife was Maria F. Sweet, and they have three children.
